Introduction

OddBytes allows for Accounts, Campaigns and Creatives to have Browser targeting. This can be used for more granular targeting and/or optimization strategies.

Targeting can be set on the three levels: Account β†’ Campaign β†’ Creative. You can choose whether or not to set Browser targeting as the same or different through the various levels, by selecting Append or Override when making changes.

Adding New Browser Targeting

There are two methods that can be used to apply Browser Targeting. These methods can also be used to add additional Browsers to existing Browser targeting.

Option 1 - Bulk Edit:

  1. Click on 'Campaigns' on the left side navigation bar.

  2. Click on 'Manage Campaigns or 'Manage Creatives' depending on the level the targeting will be applied.

  3. Select the Campaign(s) or Creative(s) where targeting will be applied.

  4. Click the 'Edit' dropdown.

  5. Click 'Change Targeting'.

  6. Click 'Browsers'.

  7. Select the Browser(s) to be applied.

  8. Click 'Include' or 'Exclude'.

    1. Include: This will target to only the users using the Browser(s).

    2. Exclude: This will exclude the users using the Browser(s).

  9. Click 'Append' or 'Override', depending on what you prefer to do with the new targeting.

    1. Override: This will adjust Browser targeting so that the change being made will replace any targeting already applied at the current or a higher level.

    2. Append: This will adjust Browser targeting so that the change will be added to any targeting already applied at the current or a higher level.

    3. Note: If Browser targeting is not applied to any level, you must still select 'Append' or 'Override' to finalize the edit.

  10. A preview of the Browser targeting will appear in the 'Active Rules - Browser Targeting' window once targeting is applied.

  11. Click 'Close' to close the window.

Option 2 - Singular Edit:

  1. Click on 'Campaigns' on the left side navigation bar.

  2. Click on 'Manage Campaigns or 'Manage Creatives' depending on the level the targeting will be applied.

  3. Find the specific row for the Campaign or Creative in which targeting will be applied.

  4. Click on the "browser window" icon under the 'Targeting' column on the row.

  5. Select the Browser(s) to be targeted.

  6. Click 'Include' or 'Exclude'.

    1. Include: This will target to only the users using the Browser(s).

    2. Exclude: This will exclude the users using the Browser(s).

  7. Click 'Append' or 'Override', depending on what you prefer to do with the new targeting.

    1. Override: This will adjust Browser targeting so that the change being made will replace any targeting already applied at the current or at a higher level.

    2. Append: This will adjust Browser targeting so that the change will be added to any targeting already applied at the current or a higher level.

    3. Note: If Browser targeting is not applied to any level, you must still select 'Append' or 'Override' to finalize the edit.

  8. A preview of the Browser targeting will appear in the 'Active Rules - Browser Targeting' window once targeting is applied.

  9. Click 'Close' to close the window.
