Introduction

While logged into your OddBytes account, there are two ways to adjust Keyword bids: in-line edit or bulk edit. It does not matter which editing options Bids are edited with, it's entirely up to your preference or need.

Bid and Rank Definitions

  • Max Bid: The maximum CPV (Cost per Impression) or CPC (Cost per Click) which OddBytes can charge per Impression or Click.

  • Avg. Bid: The average price charged per Impression or Click for the selected date range. Due to OddBytes' 'Proxy Bidding System', Avg. Bids are generally much lower than the set Max Bid.

  • Open. Bid: The suggested bid to set for a Keyword's Max Bid to receive any traffic. An Opening Bid may equal the Minimum Bid if there is little advertiser competition and/or high traffic levels for a Keyword. A Keyword will very likely not receive traffic if the Max Bid is set below the Opening Bid.

  • Avg. Rank: The average ranking for a selected date range, representing a Keyword's ranking compared to advertiser competition on the same Keyword. The higher the numerical ranking, the better.

    • If there is no numerical ranking, a "rank" of HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW will be displayed instead), the Keyword has not yet received enough traffic to calculate a numerical rank for the date range selected.

  • ACPC: The Allowable CPC for a Keyword, representing the maximum CPC that should be used to maintain profitability based on the number of conversions and TCPA. The ACPC can only be calculated if an OddBytes pixel fires and a TCPA is set.

  • APCV: The Allowable CPV for a Keyword, representing the maximum CPV that should be used to maintain profitability based on the number of conversions and TCPA. The ACPV can only be calculated if an OddBytes pixel fires and a TCPA is set.

Additional definitions can be found in our glossary.

Best Practices:

  1. Do not set the Max Bid(s) to be higher than a Campaign or Creative's Targeted CPA. Max Bid(s) should correspond to what a conversion is worth, to ensure an impression or click does not potentially cost more than what the conversion is valued at.

  2. Avoid setting the Max Bid(s) at a value higher than a Campaign or Creative's Daily Spend Cap.
