Introduction
Due to OddBytes' zero tolerance policy on Anti-Virus (AV) flags, but having the desire to support advertisers' needs, the Backup URL feature can be used in hopes to continue serving traffic to your Creative, even if the primary Creative URL is rejected. If the primary Creative URL contains a domain that is found to have an AV flag during compliance review, then the compliance team can switch to the Backup URL as a temporary Creative URL to avoid rejection. There will be no interruptions in ad delivery with the switch.
Please Note:
The Backup URL must also follow all compliance guidelines. If it does not, it will be ineligible for use. Please ensure that the URL (tracking URL, redirects and/or final landing page URL) is compliant and free of AV flags at all times.
There is no time limit in how long the Backup URL can receive traffic and act as the Creative URL. However, it may be in your best interest to replace the Primary Creative URL with the Backup URL and add a new Backup URL.
Switching back to your Primary URL: Once the issues with your Primary URL are resolved, you can request to switch from your Backup URL to your Primary URL in the platform. Our Team will review the request. More details below.

How to View the Creatives(s) with a Backup URL
To more easily identify which Creative(s) have a Backup URL added, a Backup URL column can be added to the 'Manage Creatives' grid. If the column is not present, add it by following the below steps:
Click on ‘Manage Creatives’ on the left side nav.
At a column header, hover over the header and click on the drop down arrow icon.
Hover over 'Columns' and click on 'Backup URL'.
Once the column is added, a checkmark icon will appear indicating that a Backup URL is in place. By hovering over the icon, you can view the status of the Backup URL and the URL itself.
How to View the Creative(s) with an Active Backup URL
There are three ways in which to know if a Creative has been switched from the Primary Creative URL to Backup URL, meaning that the Backup URL is actively receiving traffic and the Primary Creative URL is flagged.
Backup URL Column: When in use, the icon will change from a checkmark to a triangle with an exclamation mark.
A green clock will appear next to the triangle icon when a request has been submitted in the platform to switch back to a Primary URL.
Platform Message: A banner message at the top of the platform will be present.
Email Alert: An email can be sent informing the user when a switch happens. To opt into the email alert, please click here for instructions.
